When West gets in with the heart ace, they have no more clubs to lead (probably)

Run all 6 hearts. If West started with all the spade card, it doesn’t seem like this can be made, but if it East has a spade card you can make it. They both have to come down to 6 cards, east can’t stiff his spade honor (you can play king of spades), east must also keep 2 clubs, and east must keep three diamonds or you can play 3 rounds of diamonds endplaying west.

But by encouraging a spade, you can still always give a heart ruff and get suit preference from partner and you still get 2 heart ruffs which is the maximum you can get by overtaking and leading a heart.

I just got an email about a tournament in fall of 2016
“Your results for the 1st session of the Stratified Open Pairs have been affected by a scoring change.”

Your right. A trump lead beats it but I don’t see how it can be made on a diamond lead.

On a diamond lead, declarer can’t ruff 3 spades in dummy and set up diamonds and pull trumps.

The hand on the top is the hand that doubled. The hand on the bottom is the hand that bid 6H.
