Intresting. That sounds more like a slam invitational help suit try than a controlbid. In Sweden (where I live) most top players here would bid a new suit with a singleton and 3NT as a general slamtry without one. I assume you must use the same call (3NT) if you do not have a suit that you need a specific valuable honour to do your q-bid in. Or do you play 3NT here as natural or some kind of serious/nonserious try? If you do, how do you handle hands with no side suit suitable for your style?
