I retuned a high club following the same sequence, but partner said I should return a low club to give him a a full count of my hand so that he would figure out that I for sure had a singleton diamond. Middle of the hand leads 3 and low. Thoughts?

Thanks Phil, this is definitely a film we have watched several times and has inspired us as a production. Another title that I am considering is “This is Bridge”

David,

I am not sure I understand which type of title you prefer, can you please clarify?

When I tried Double Dummy out on a non-bridge playing friend, he asked what it meant and was intrigued. Other non-bridge players have had more blase reactions; nonetheless, it is a fun problem to have!

Yes, we definitely want a title that fits the film, but appeals to non-bridge players. Since we haven't yet cut the whole film, it might be fitting that the appropriate title might not yet have revealed itself.

The documentary follows the US under 21 junior national team to the junior world championships in China. In one of the hands of the last round a player plays a hand double dummy, which is the working title now.

We are still editing the film and we want to pay off to non-bridge players who see the movie and wonder, wtf does Double Dummy mean. It's the ultimate compliment to pay a bridge player, you played that hand double dummy. What does the community here think?

How did you and Kit start playing together?

I played in a tournament in Bulgaria this summer and loved how everybody was playing in the same event. Granted the field was a good bit smaller than a typical regional, but after round your table assignment 1-20 something generally reflected your team's standing in the event. The first seven tables all had screens while tables 15+ had the old leather sleeve card holders. You definitely did not want to be playing in the leather sleeve division!

One of the primary reasons we wanted to make a documentary film about bridge was to promote the beauties of the game to younger generations. With a bit of prodding the ACBL has become more and more accommodating to helping us and now it feels like a true partnership.

I am relatively new to the national circuit, but I think you make a good point that fostering an event or two for people in our age group makes sense.

Impressed you all got the time to meet together to discuss this, hope there is more. Lots of interesting information available in how the hand was played, thought processes of the players etc. particularly on board two.
