If event is actually seeded correctly than this seems correct if the 4 top players are far and above the rest of the club. I am frequently asked to sit against a certain pair in the first round to make sure the top pairs play each other and not sit in the same direction.

Robot but instead of best hand guarantee the player some minimum like 10 points as opposed to best hand so therefore since player has some points will always be involved in final table result and not have all the information when they have 12 points that no one else has more or when they have 15 and partner opens 1N they know partner has 15.

The reason I believe best hand is played is so that the “player” is not taken out of the equation. If you have a Yarborough and the robot opponents all bid to the same game or slam with the robot on lead then there may potentially be a lot of flat boards. This I believe evolved to best hand since players enjoyed the format more. I think a reasonable compromise for this type of event could be the player is always dealt at least 10 points. Eliminates a lot of the issues brought up where when you have a balanced 15 and partner opens 1N you know there is no slam or when you have 11 and partner opens you know it is a shapely 11. Giving the player some nominal value of points keeps the player involved in the decision making on what happens on the board and takes away a lot of the reasons some claim it is not real bridge.

Actually auction at table was
1 1
2N 3
3 3
3N 4
4N 5
5 Passed out 5C showed 1 or 4. Different hand than given in example. I was defending and partner led face down. I asked 3H showed 3, 3 spades was unsure. I asked if 3N denied 4 spades and answer was yes which implied to me that 3 spades showed 4. After hand was played out I found out that although 3N denied 4 spades he had denied 4 spades when he bid 3H. Partner led a spade and I held Axxxxx with dummy KQx. I tried to give partner ruff instead of switching to my singleton and I could have gotten ruff. I stated if 3H denied 4 spades when I asked if 3N denied 4spades maybe I should have been given that explanation especially since partner could not explain what 3S showed.
If declarer was 4513 my defense was correct but not against 1543.

As stated above no issue in changing card. Again I believe he was intending as joke.

I believe he was intending it as a joke. No one had issue with me correcting card played from dummy.

Steve, Since We did not have a Coc for district. And since my team(4 players) without me won't have an issue. I am going to call tournament and ask that all 5 and 6 man teams be disqualified since they played 4 6 board swiss matches and I can guarantee they did switch partnerships after 3 boards all those teams should be disqualified. Obviously not intent of condition of contest since it is discussing the knockout phase of the event not the qualifying portion.

Correct score and penalize both sides for inputting an incorrect score. If a penalty existed I think maybe there would be less errors.

I know Metropolitan Bridge Club in Orlando has been asked to host these type of events in the past and did not accept.
I have played the GNT A numerous times since it's inception around 2000 and do not believe location has impact to table count in both open and flight A. Typically Flight B and C will have large local contingents enter that may not have gone to event based on location.

When the Open trials is scheduled at the same time as the GNT they have allowed the open event to move to another weekend so as not to conflict. My understanding again I have no direct knowledge is hat one of the teams pay the expenses of director and such to not conflict with Open trials.

I did not play in the GNT A this year as I had hoped to since I had a conflict on Saturday evening. I actually emailed director to see if I could play on Sunday if I did not play on Saturday and was told that a player had to play half of the second session(Saturday evening) to continue in event. I also tried to find CoC to verify this but could not find one for Florida.

I prefer the 2nd option but I have the specific agreement with some partners about this. Playing regular garbage stayman I would probably just transfer to 2S since such a disparity.

The other thing is space constraints. If all tables playing the same boards I do not believe sitting as close together as done in a pair game is correct if everyone is playing the same boards.

I expect that the Bot planned on rebidding 2N invitational over any response. Over 3S even though 9 card fit the 4 card suit is getting no ruffs. Partner should not be 5422 and opener is maybe getting 1 ruff. Seems like 3N is correct bid. Looking at both hands contact I would want to be in as opposed to 4S.

Don't know if ever happened. Although I have entered these events with flight on Friday. Knowing I would pay change fee if we managed to survive.

I believe you get to set your sitouts as you see fit when the other team withdraws.

Richard. If a team who thinks they have no chance enters the Spingold/Vanderbilt and survives 2 days and then withdraws since they had plane tickets already booked and see no reason to change them since they now have drawn a high seed where they think there is no chance. I think this would be an unacceptable withdrawal from the head director.

This id different if scored correct side wrong declarer. This appears to be wrong side getting credit for incorrect score. Depends on what conditions of contest state of when corrections can occur. Expect it is too late.

I would think if a team did not show up to final and did not pay entry fee they would be disqualified. Now team that pays and other team doesn't show up not sure what we should do here. Obviously they win event. Paying beforehand when I know other team is not showing up seems incorrect.
