why did the French team that year have only 4 players? Were Paladino-Covo originally members? If so what happened?

after the Murray-Kehela fiasco (never being elected despite being on the ballot for years) I do not believe any other Canadian living or having lived exclusively in Canada was ever chosen again to be on the ballot,( but that might just be because of a dirth of talent north of the border)However when an outstanding canidate like Sam Gold is overlooked it gave me pause thus this thread that i started.Of course the selectors might just realize that putting a Canadian resident and citizen on the ballot would be futile so they wisely didnt again let the voters the opportunity to ignore a Canadian.

a frequent partner of hers was Eric Murray who had nothing but respect for her bridge abilites and was instrumental in getting her elected to both the US and Canadian hall of fame They both hold record for highest % game in ACBL history close to 75% in a national event.I believe it was arround 1963

Sam Gold most active playing days were during world war two from 1939 to 1946 or 7 there were strict currency laws which made it difficult for canadians to cross the boarder to play bridge despite all the restrictions he was LM #132 and Canadas 2nd life master. In those days being a life master was a major achievement

most Canadian bridge players are entangled in golden handcuffs (ie the master point system)so outside of maybe the very top players most Canadians are very satisfied with the status quo.So any talk of Canadians going their own way will get nowhere. If I thought it practical I certainly would be for succession (after all i do live in Quebec),but i know that it is just my fantacy. What has the ACBL ever done for Canadians?
