At BBO, typing the self alerts needs a lot of time or requires a fast typist. Using a virtual keyboard for typing on a tablet is even slower. Therefore, as I understand the proposal, North and West are siting at a table next to each other and alert and explain bids by voice - no typing needed. There is no need for them to whisper, as East and South are sitting somewhere else in a separate room and cannot hear anything.

It appears that you first read the entire website Boye provided, and then started commenting on the boards, resulting in e.g “with KQxxx Axxxx (can't remember which was which)” (it was the other way round). Maybe you are not aware that it is possible to have more than one browser window simultaneously, and use one for typing the comment while in the other the hand you are commenting on is still being displayed.

You think the “unfirm partnership ground” was that Fisher was not sure if Schwartz meant is bid lead directing or showed a solid 6+ suit? For sure it didn't promise any minor holding, as otherwise Fisher could have bid 4 without worry. This surprises me, as I would have expected that 3 would either be defined to be such a strong suit that it can be played even if partner is short, or promises a fit in some minor.

A possible explanation for Fisher's pass might be that maybe the system really defined the 3 hearts to show a solid 6+ suit, and Schwartz simply did not remember. If so, this would indeed not prove anything.

Here is the link to the page where Boye discusses this hand: http://bridgecheaters.com/?page_id=199

The vugraph operator explained the following after the hand had been finished:

Sadek looking at Schartz's hand. Wondering how he knew to lead a heart not a spade.
Fisher says 9876 looks like a natural lead anyway

Fisher was South.
