Sometimes in Life we do things not for profit but because they are the right thing to do. In cases like this I also believe it would help internal healing and possibly improve the way other people see you. Your mileage may vary of course, profit seems to be the one important thing for many.

This would be interesting with a diversified cultural background of the subjects. Was that the case?

Assuming FS were innocent, what would be the harm in publishing their irrefutable evidence? That is the question the FS supporters should ask themselves.

Nice story Martin! It seems the more things change the more they stay the same. Merry xmas to everyone, even those from the dark side of Sweden.

A comparision semifinal vs final in the Bermuda Bowl would be interesting. Did they use the horisontal/vertical as frequently in both matches?

I think Fisher and Schwartz should study the concept of Ikigai. Is this their mening of life? Why they wake up in the morning? To lie and cheat? Where does their attitude originate?

A little known fact. Zatorski was the vugraph operator in the Fisher mobile incident Wroclaw 2013. According to his testimony he could not hear Fisher threaten anyone. Coincidentally Zatorski is now partnering Pachmann who is Fishers brother in law.

What we and the rest of the world knows now is what this player is capable of. Thanks to the video recordings. He will straighten up or be gone!

Your interpretation of logical alternatives in a UI case is very liberal Hanan.

The second heart lead says “I dont care about the cards you play, only about your tempo”

On the actual bidding a slow diamond is a clear indication that J/Jxx/xx/KQ987xx is not possible. The J is a huge card for an uppercut after the 3NT bid.

Once again, this doesnt mean that playing a diamond slowly was wrong, it only means that basing the continuation on the slow diamond is not allowed.

As for returning a after winning the K I think this is wrong since with stopped (KJx), no uppercut available and only 7 you should return a club. Preferrably the 9 indictaing J. There is no lie of the cards where a back is necessary.

The core of the problem is that the extremely slow diamond tells opening leader that his partner has the K. Is he then allowed to play him for it? Not if there are logical alternatives. Are there? J/Qxx/xx/KQxxxxx or xx/Qxx/x/KQ98xxx are both possible hands. This is regardless of how fast Sontag played.

The only reason for opening leader (IMHO) to think for 5 mins 30 secs after receiving a signal is the internal struggle “Can I really shift to a heart now?”. Another high diamond is safe, normal and an obvious play for a World Class player. Granted, pressure can do strange things to people.

BTW. Why is the return after winning king so obvious? Playing partner for a misdefence with AKxx in diamonds? Not that it mattered for the end result.
