Depends on style.
If U dont want bid 1NT with a singleton U can avoid this version :)))
I often bid 1nt with a SGL so for me this convention works very well

Evidently Mr Hargreaves read only page 1 and didnt read Any Develop about this convention
Mr Hargreaves forgot that with this convention he can play 2 or 2 with 43 fit wich is often a better contract than 1nt and even 3 with 53 or 54 Fit
This looks to me Mr Hargraeves pubblish one of those poorly comments that periodically surface here and elsewhere…

My reply was to Michael Hargreaves…Anyway…if U have a suit wthout side entries in dummy U will make less tricks than if U play that suit as a thrump.

Evidently U dont read Well The post.
When opener has 1345 after 1-1-1N-2 bid 2
When opener has 1435 bid 2,that means that responder has always a choose to play at least with 7 thrumps
Basic rules of good bridge says its better to play 2M instead 1N When responder has a weak hand and this method works for not play in 5-1.

Playing Walsh seems Logical your sequence.
If dont play walsh i think that 1-1-1-1 weak 4+-4 or 4th suit GF is more unclear
