Did you mean to say:Since “passing” is one of my logical alternatives, I would therefore choose it.

A very good hand with no wasted values in Spades. If he was interested in NT, he could bid 3S.

I am currently playing some with Milt Nehr an early partner of yours (high school days). He is a fine player and a gentleman, I think a credit to you.

There was no stop by North before the 4S bid, but East waited the mandatory 10 secs.

Very interesting-apparently you played the same hand from yesterdays common game, but South bid 5 Spades. In fact, South said that she hesitated because she didn't kow whether North's bid was strong or weak.

East was required to wait 10 secs. Was the BIT longer than that.

Yes, in fact South said she hesitated because she didn't know whether North's bid was strong or weak. That's a whole another kettle of fish.

When North disagreed that there was a break in tempo, I (West) called the director. I think North response was a reflex action as North did not contest that there was a break in tempo when the director came to the table.

I don't understand the comment that North should have also called the director. North disagreed that there was a break in tempo.

Sorry, a poll is what I had in mind. The director did not consult with anyone.

Declarer had five spades AKQXX and had just played the AKQ to find the suit 4-2. Playing a spade would setup the fifth spade for the ninth trick with the opponents unable to set the contract.
