A Multi-colored 2 opening bid shows one of the following hand types:

A weak two-bid in hearts
A weak two-bid in spades
Any 4-4-4-1 shape with 17-24 HCP
Opener will hold a weak-two the vast majority of the time. While the convention originated in the 1970s, it's worth mentioning that many players nowadays use Multi only with a weak-two.

I use Multi versus Multi 2 diamonds defence (https://chrisryall.net/bridge/multi-v-multi-2d.htm). You should see the look on the opponents face when we pull out the write-up. I highly recommend this defence.

82% vote for 2-Clubs was the first part. How do I make this a 2-part bidding problem?

Please explain, I would like to have made this a two part problem but don't see anyway to do that as a bidding problem. When I put something like this as an article I get “snarky” comments that it doesn't belong in the article section.

Seems overwhelming for 2C-would like to hear rationale from the 1S bidder.

We lost the Spade suit when my partner overcalled 1 H. I had 5S, 1H, 4D, 3C and about 5HCPs. The hand makes 4Spades and they played 3C

I asked a good player what he thought North’s hand was? Without thinking he said diamonds!! I told him that that I didn’t see how it was possible that North would want to play 2D on the bidding.
