Excellent venture.

On another note what are Blue Points? Im confused we have Gold, Green, Black and now Blue Masterpoints! Do members still avidly collect these points now NGS (National Grading System) appears a more accurate gauge of ones ability. It would seem rather pointless attaining Grandmaster status whilst having a rating of say a Jack.
Masterpoints are a reward for attendance.

Is the lesson here to be careful on your Vul 1 level overcalls or is it losing bridge not to get your bid in?

They have found a low level fit, it must be losing Bridge not to protect? Wouldnt dream of bidding 2d Vul. On first viewing i missed the 6th Diamond. I still wouldnt bid 2d.

3H.I like to show 5CM whenever possible. Dont want to be playing in 3c if Partners shape is 3334 or even 4c if the bidding proceeds 1s,2s,x,3s,4c!
Playing ELC i would x with 4h,5d.

Henry, I admire/agree with your disciplined 2nd in hand preempts. Sometimes easier said than done. I presume you would advocate any old junk 3rd in hand but what are your parimeters for your preempts 1st in hand?

3H…Prefer 2 of 3 top honours for this pre empt in 2nd seat (or at least thats what ive been taught). Problem is alternatives look far less attractive.

Abstain. Unsure if 1nt = 6-9 (Acol) or 5-11 (semi forcing). Although my Partner is trying to convince me to play 2/1 im a little unsure of the subtle nuances.
Im guessing this is 1NT semi forcing (as us Brits in a minority here) and the X shows upper range? If so i would leave the x.

i bid 4. My partner who held Axx,Axx,AQxx,KQx decided once he found out i had 1KC bid a hopeless 6. I think in hindsight he was entitled to expect a few more HCP from my hand. On reflection 3 would have been more suitable with my hand and gives us a chance to stop at optimum contract 3NT.

No it doesnt promise an unbalanced hand as he could still have the strong NT hand though whether over 2 with a flat 15 count he bids again is debateable.

I voted 7 presuming 5nt promised all the KC's.
Im puzzled why South didnt Cue bid A over 4 allowing North to show 2nd round control in 's.
