You mean a 2 opener with two solid suits? I dare say you could rebid your AKQJx if you needed to.

I want to give North 200%, but South should follow through on patterning out by bidding 3. Still, it's a lot of North blame…

I think 6 is a better bet than 6. Partner will never believe you have the K anyways, but you didn't have a convenient club cuebid before, so showing that card (hoping partner doesn't need the K) seems a reasonable shot.

Can we maybe at least limit unverified accounts to say one or two messages prior to verification? Also, captcha.

Well, that's my choice. Unless it is specifically slammish.

This feels a lot like a bidding problem.

Doesn't the direct 3 show a GF 5-5?

The question for this round isn't Pass vs. 6; it is 6 vs 6.

My feeling was that issuing a grand try at this point in the auction would get our side to too many bad grands (where partner also has club length and we have a 3rd round loser). Passing isn't even in the picture.

Not such an easy lead director; they can easily play it there and be right if you double.

4 in particular shows West had misevaluated the hand by A LOT. But I so, so, so loathe 4 on the stiff in partner's suit, that I tag it as worst bid, even though it had nothing at all to do with the final contract.

Yet another reason the convention has “DON'T” right in the name. Competitive bridge is 90% about majors, yet this convention focuses on the lower ranking suit, leaving the major a mystery.

The first style I'd write as (14++) 15 - 17
The second style 14+ - 17

You failed to present a hand, but I cannot see forcing a passed hand to double 3NT opposite a third seat opener and opponents just blasting game on power.

Why don't you just use the + method. 18+ to 20-

It can be written in a number of ways depending on how frequently you upgrade
18++ to 21- (22–)
That sort of thing.

There should be some effort made to communicate how likely you are to upgrade via the convention card.

Amazing how some players are able to run over directors.

Two spades should have at least a two-card disparity and game interest. If partner is 1=3 in the majors, I'm pretty sure I don't want to get any higher. 3 when you are a coin toss to be doubled in two is pretty optimistic.

5 is a failure to play bridge. I do not find the arguments from South's supporters even slightly convincing.

Peg, I'm not saying South is a cheat, what I'm saying is that if he was a cheat, that's what he would have done. The laws are careful to craft such phrases as “could have known” rather than “knew for sure.”

The director can always restore equity. Also, allowing players to ch@@t is bad for the club and bad for the game.

I like 2 as GF ART and 2 as INV art; which opens up a pure NF NT.
