The king looked like an alarm clock signal to me. If that's the case, I need to give ruffs while I have entries. After all, this is match points. It's such an unusual lead that partner has to be asking for a return.

Could partner's distribution be 5-0-3-5? That might account for unusual king lead, in which case I need to give him ruffs. I know that gives declarer AKQxxx. Why else the K lead? I edited this to get the distribution straight. Tried to give partner 5, but doubt if that's right.

I picked 2-day KO, but I may change my vote to BAM. Love that game. Just not in New York.

Sad news, adding to an already terrible week for the bridge world. Like Cindy, I don't have words except to offer condolences to Richie and all who knew her.

Jeff's link is good for one-day parking. For longer stays, Global Parking has uncovered spots at motels near the airport for $5/day (plus tax) with free shuttle to airport. From there you can take the train. I'm parking at Sheraton Suites for 11 nights for $74.

4 should be natural and forcing, probably 5-5 in the minors, looking for slam in the best strain. Follow-up bids by opener need partnership discussion. If 4 is a Q in support of , opener's jump to 3NT (a bid I don't like and would use only if very narrowly defined) caused the problem. If all responder wanted to know was opener's number of Aces, 5 (a jump over last NT) would be Gerber.
