I am a fan of the 4 bid. Usually it is a transfer to the opponents 4 and since I´m a void I expect them to be there in the next round.

Since I jump in with 4 in unfavorable opposite a passed partner, partner knows this is a serious bid and not a weak preemptive bid. Therefor I am expecting partner to bid 5 with as little as Ax in hearts or sometimes even Qx of hearts. If partner has let´s say a hand with xx in hearts and an ace or any hand with three of them he will surely bid 5 and in unfavorable this puts alot of pressure on the opponents as we usually don´t fool around in Vul on the fifth level.

But when partner is passing 4 I don´t think this is our board anymore. Sure, if partner has AK of clubs this hand is a disaster to pass out but how would we ever figure that out?

Of course when partner is hesitating over 4 I am expecting us to score 10,5 tricks in hearts which means double is gonna be the winner this time. But without the hesitation or any information about the hesitation I would still passout this hand. I can feel -590/690 around the corner if I double with this hand.

Quite suprised looking at the stats here. I think everytime they don´t have a double-fit it´s with odds to lead a trump against these kind of bids. Lead a passive/aggressive K here feels normal but wrong if you think about it in my opinion.

Thanks for very nice words Steve. Much appriciated!

1. I am certainly sure our mum could being anyone to victory just by her charm. Not the opponent I would feel comfy to play against for sure!

2. Everytime Odin sees me I see a big smile on his face. I hope I am his favourite but I don't know for sure :).

Hi Steve and thanks!

1. Probably NT-system, signals, leads and our way to support eachother in minor and major openings.
2. As my brother said we also need more help in this subject. We had the luck to grow up in a bridge family so it was easier for us.
3. The future might be interesting. They probably thought the same 40 years ago so it's a tuff question! My guess is a natural based system will be the future leading system with some gadgets obviously :)

Thanks alot for the congratz Lynn!

I just know teaching the hard way is probably the way to success but from the beginning it's all about taking tricks. Playing cardgames where taking tricks is involved is a great start before you learn bridge in my opinion.

Bidding I would slowly explain how you are supposed to communicate with your partner by using the bidding box. Firstly I will go through the meaning of the opening bids and maybe show an ideal hand of when and why you open with different bids.

I just know from my own experience that the opportunity of going abroad to play bridge was a huge feeling for me. That's when I started to really spend alot of time to play bridge. Dad was always trying to play team tournaments with us and “eventually” pairs just to teach us what he knows. We didn't always do very great because we were young and unexperienced but it gave results with all his bridgetips. Nowdays I am happy to say it is all the complete oppsoite where me and Ola give back what he needs to be taught about modern bridge :)

Thanks Aviv for the nice words! Always a pleasure coming to New York!

A) I have read maximum 20 books in my life so here ut was easy for me. The Cirque du Freak series with Darren Shan was very enjoyable when I read it. Maybe not as fun to read for adults though.

B) Favourite movie for me is either the Taken series with Liam Neeson or Silence of the Lambs. I am in love with crime and action!

C) My dream destination is Galapagos Islands because I love safari trips. I haven't been there yet though. I loved the trip we had to Hurghada, Egypt as my brother stated. Swimming around coral reefs was so amazing!

I think on the other hand this help us alot. When you are playing a long tournament you obviously get very exhausted in the end of it. Therefor the condition and physical part of your life plays a huge role last few days in a tournament. I think this has been proven many times because I never feel like a worse bridgeplayer last few days. There is always some spare stamina left in my body and I thank my physique for it!

1. “I have good stats against this guy and will remain it that way”
2. One top could be two tops!
3. Amazing cardplayers. Let's see how the preempt work against these guys!
4. Most legendary pair that's still actice. Always an honnour playing against them!
5. Be careful. Age is just a number! One day I might get a good board against him!
6. Don't play too fast! Amazing scentific bidders who always end up in the right spot.

Hi Michael and thanks for your congratz! I´m sure I will have my revenge in a future Bermuda Bowl sooner or later :)

1. This is a question I am getting really often. I have always responded no because it´s about knowing how your partner are thinking in many difficult situations. Many people think we are identical but that is also not true. Being identical I think the answer would be yes.

But the more I think about it I think we do have some advantage because we started at the same time, had the same mentors everytime, discussed bridge with eachother everytime and now even staying with eachother. It´s quite clear we might have a tiny advantage but I don´t think we´re close to people like Meckstroth-Rodwell who has been playing with eachother for ages.

2. I don´t but it sounds like you have a fun story to reveal to us? :)

Thanks Johan, I have actually tried to find it myself but failed to do so. Too bad it is in Swedish so people wouldn´t really understand my analyze of the board :).

Hi again!

Since we both have alot of spare time we both go to the gym when we have time over (about 2-4 times a week). We don´t go to school since we decided to put that on break when we got professional deals in America. I listen to books a little now and then. Rarely reads anything.

What we do on our spare time is up in the description.

Thanks!

Not sure if we claim it to be superior but much better than before when every contested bidding was old school style. We just agree that precision isn´t our style and rather play natural system. For the 1 opening my answer is simple: Who cares about the club suit? :)

4c major openings is amazingly bad when opponents enter the bidding. But it could also be very effective because it preempts the bidding very quickly. But in modern bridge 4c openings won´t ever do well against world class players in my opinion.
