Thank's a lot all of You for the comments.
Belladonna's solution (in case of 3-2 in atout) was replayed by Steve's comment. Our discussion was about the possibility that West hold 5 cards in . In this case “may be” East have doubled for the lead. If You beleive so cashing A is superior to play low from dummy (official solution).
.
Sorry. No solution from Belladonna when atout split 4-1!

I open 1 also if in my 15-17 hcp 1NT I can have a 5-cards Maj.
We open 1NT with 5-cards Maj only in a minimum (15-16 hcp) and put 17-20 hcp with 5M-3-3-2 in Gazzilli development

John and all other American people:
I apologize for my English
From Your reaction I understand that You think that I am anti-USA.
Wrong: I am pro-bridge.
My remarks was only mathematical (two team = double chanche to get a final) and about “principle” (or CoC) the permit two USA team in a “World Championship for National Teams”
The evidence is that I have not well explained my point of view.

I like to follow throught BBO the USBF National event and the USBF Trials for USA1 and USA2 as well due to the high level of play.
And please notice that half of those event are played when here in Europe is night…

Finally: please check my profile here in Bridgewinners to verify who are my bridge-stars… No, really, I am not anti-USA

From WBF website:
The event is named: 43rd World Bridge Teams Championships

Remarks form the Partecipants page:
Only authorized users are permitted to register team rosters for the National Teams events (i.e. the Bermuda Bowl, Venice Cup and d'Orsi Seniors Trophy).

So it is a “National teams Event” called “World Championship”

In all other sport/game there are Olympiad (any country can partecipate) and World Championship (with zonal preliminary selection)

So I continue to discuss the “Principle” or if You prefer the CoC that admit two team from USA

Gary:I don't discuss the deep strength of the expert USBF community, may be also an USA3 team can get the final of event.
I discuss the principle that in a World Championship each Nation must have a team and not two independing from the strength of the expert national community.

In a past discussion someone remark that the BB is not the World Championship for Nation… But it is managed from WBF and it seem like a National World Championship.

My first remark was that having two team in each competitition USA have doble chanche to get a final or a winning than other Nation.

I thank all of You for the discussion.

Guillame: reducing the number of board in 1/8 and 1/4 KO reduce the technical width of the event to a Near-Random event

George: the 8 qualifiers don't make more money but 16 qualifiers means 6-days event and increase the costs and so 16 qualifiers = less money

David: UK (United Kingdom) have mutliple teams (England, Scotland, Galles and so on..) in ANY sport/game because they are different “Nation”… so please indicate to me ONE sport/game where You found only a team UK

Gary: if the numbers of members means something may be in Basketball USA must have 10 teams in the World Championship

The high number of members means that USA or China can have more choiche and so a strong team, no more team (for me…)

John: please show me another sport/game where a country is allowed to send more than one team do the World Championship.

The conditions of contest permit TWO USA teams and only one from any other NBO…. See a USA team in a final have double odds than anhy other NBO…

Typo.

I think that the Transnational event is only a “commercial” one… 1350 Euros as entry, three days of Swiss regardless the number of teams, 8 to KO regardless the number of teams, start on Sunday prevent too much teams to drop from BB so start on Monday, so is only a time matter… not a technical event!

typo.
