i thought it was pen at the time but in hindsight it makes more sense to play it as ‘responsive’ rather than try to get 2D-1.I suppose the moral is never make an ambiguous dbl unless you have an agreement. 3C was the winning action.

I didn't envisage P's hand when I passed- I would have passed however its interesting over a quarter of those voting see it differently.

I went with the majority action on this hand. P had Axxxx
Void AKx AJxxx -990 was the result with only black aces holding up (dummy had a diamond void) Comments?

L your comment regarding the heart suit is very apt-if you pass here and partner doubles are you going to pass? At least if you double you are more likely to get a heart lead.
Partner passed and I had Kx Kxxxxxx Kxx xx is 5 spades clear? I doubled and made the ‘obvious’ king spades lead - declarer ruffed and owing to the diamond blockage was able to squeeze me in the red suits for 11 tricks.2 off on a heart lead and one off on a diamond lead- painful!!

It was not a regular partnership but it would seem normal to play pass as forcing.

is the glass half full or half empty? a responsive double would have been better on the first round now its a guess

what else is there?
2 spades or pass is more
likely to lead to an unhappy
partner rather than a good score

I have advocated hiding scores in our club for some time now -it slows the game up-leads to more speech play about what other people did on the hand- I get the argument that ‘well we used to see the scores on the travellers’Lets use the technology and move on-gauging your score on a board should be part of the game.
