I can't accept this kind of flawed logic, guys.
As all of us can see all doubles ask partner if he like to pass for penalty. That way of bid after own sides RD is superior to your ways of bid. You are blindfolded by tradition. Again… not ever one have to bid the same way or think like you think. It's a mindgame and some guys appearantly like to disqualify them self….

Ian: from my point of view this is about; wording in regulation, wording in disclosure, punishment, the distance between bridge law authorities and the average bridge player as well as about common sense. Other readers might add some additional aspects…

…edit: the brilliant way to protest is to break the law with hands like this. Go to director you self and discuss your choice and get some punishment AND a perfect story for the bridge magasins and on discussion forums like this.

I can't see any injury in case like this. Correction without any injured is today a miserable part of our game.

And the poll strategy might give flawed outcome in case like this. There are situations where the poll strategy not is secure enough … and it is easy to identify those…

However, if we have laws like this, offside like rules, the punishment have to be a warning for lazyness/unconscious disturbance or a penalty of procedure fore conscious or provocative disturbance. Opponents should never get compensation without any clear injury.

Crule and unfair laws like this will always be a strong demotivator.

Why accept laws based on principles without any relation to the only core part in our game, taking tricks?

First step to KBA is to re-write the laws, an average play have to understand and be capable to explain all principle to for instance a collegue. And same average player should normally not feel acused for anything if we correct a score.

However, now when we have bad thinking behind laws and regulations, it is of cause ok to protest against this disclosure; and in the same time it has to be ok that the far majority of players refuse to protest and is open with their position.

If trying to find game contract which is hard to bid otherwise equals messing with the the opponent you are right.

Is the plan to initiate production of a new generation of bridge players? If so, I understand that the news were reported from China…

I prefer mini-nt or weak-nt in all zone when opponents are vul (in 1st and 2nd position). Most players focus only on the risk side, the largest reward side do you have when opps are red.

Calm down guys, it can be used for fielding; it doesn't mean that using Drury have to be even close to fielding psyches. All depends on if the light third han opening is within the system limitation and that the pairs fulfill expected declaration and explanations. Simple as that

How close can you go into a wall without passing through

Well, isn't drury as close as fielding psyches you are allowed to play nowdays. Is it only me who have seen missuse, even if it is very uncommon I really dislike when it happends? With that said, I like to psyche … just not controlled ones.

Personally I enjoy the social aspects most; having fun with my best friends and get friends over the generations as well as meeting all odd personalities. Love u all ;)

The combination of theory and practice, and the possiblity to make better scores than double dummy. You have to play the player and not the cards. I also love the potential of volatile strategy and that so much of the game still is undeveloped. And that everyone makes so many mistakes, our most logical brains often miss some aspects at the same time as some other fellow are billiant in same situations; almost none of us fully understand the game …

I always looking forward to meet some opponents, those who love the game more than their own results. Pure joy!

Bruce Evans: from a scientific view a law relates to observations, not explanations, that requires a theory. Whether the theory is correct remains to be seen. When it's correct it's still a theory. You can't reduce physics as you do. LoTT is plain BS, while gravity theories try to describe the observation as correct as possible… and they are damn close.

Learnt a faster way from a friend. I count the first 4 to 5 cards and if that's ok I can assume that all 13 is correct.
