The moment of guilt? Perhaps the moment the director was not informed.

Greg, please tell us what actions are needed by the various parties involved (district or unit, ACBL staff in house and on site TDs) to activate posting by ACBL live.

Is it not possible the district requested or wanted to pass it on?

Don, I thought the ACBL Disciplinary Committee was charged with hearing cases when the alleged wrong doing occurred at a National. And yes, I have not double checked the Disciplinary Code.

Of course it would be fine with you. But you did not call upon them to do so.

Peg, given the people involved why not call upon them to “step up to the plate” as opposed to calling on ACBL employees who are restricted from discussing disciplinary matters? Regardless of future hearing results any person involved who is about to represent us in international competition knows whether or not they are “guilty” and knows that if guilty should not represent the USA in this moment in time.

During the time that I paid a ridiciously low amount to play with Juanita at the North Hollywood bridge club, as stated somewhere else recently, it was the most fun I have ever had playing bridge. As mentioned by many others her smile was fantastic and she was just downright fun to be around. I have never forgotten (and perhaps have repeated this many times in the past) what fun it was to watch her wait for the scores to get done while I was hanging back hoping I had not embarrassed myself and then, if we had won, to see her turn to me, flash that smile, throw both hands up high and say, “touchdown Rena.”

It was impossible not to love her or feel happy when confronted with that huge smile. Even in bad times. Farewell Juanita Baby.

The city of Horn Lake has dubious quality and I told them not to buy that building! The men and women of the ACBL are a cut over the average bears when it comes to work ethic and integrity. In my 23 years at ACBL I had the good fortune to work with people you never knew. I believe all ( maybe not all) of the poor decision making can be laid at the 50 feet of a clumsy and inefficient group of passionate bridge lovers all believing passionately that they know what is best for the game they are passionate about and a CEO bombarded by the cacophony of sounds from those in charge and not enough power to enact his and his management team's notions of the right thing to do.

As a retired Acbl on-site employee I applaud every word you have written. Thank you Sue for having the courage to stand up and be counted

I believe the host hotel for the Vancouver NABC refused to consider a future contract with ACBL. Someone Please correct me if I am wrong.

Quote from the post oct 30 titled ACBL suspends FS and FN

Bridge Winners has learned that Lotan Fisher, Ron Schwartz, Fulvio Fantoni, and Claudio Nunes have had their ACBL memberships suspended, pending hearings on charges brought before the ACBL Ethical Oversight Committee. The suspension is pursuant to CDR §6.1 and prevents them from playing either together or separately in any ACBL event. The EOC hearings on Fisher-Schwarz and Fantoni-Nunes have been postponed, at the request of the charged parties, until the 2016 Spring NABC in Reno.

There is no news from the EOC about Piekarek-Smirnov or Balicki-Zmudzinski.

I believe a postponement was requested and granted. I think the chairman of the hearing committee has the power to grant or deny a postponement. Procedures that may or may not be the right way to go. The paperwork invlolved with disciplinary procedures was my job at the time I retired June 2010. I have always tended to stand up for my employer and my remarks were meant to say the the postponement was not some sort of ACBL avoidance ploy.

Geoff, based on my experience at ACBL I am reasonably certain it is the players who have requested a postponement of the hearings originally scheduled for Denver.

Phillip, your attitude is very much in tune with mine expressed in BW post a couple of weeks ago or so. Sadly, a professional player has motive to feel otherwise.

I do think that a high tech arena where one is separated from partner but shares space with one opponent that one could kibitz to include audio and video would provide a better experience for perhaps a paying audience. At least for a very interested group of bridge fanatics.

Don Mamula, there was a player memo created using Word and its tables function that a user could tab through the various fields to enter data. I retired in 2010. I can only find the older version of a Player Memo when I look at ACBL site.

I wonder too. A close look at the photo posted on bridgecheaters.com might offer some clues.
