When I first started bridge 40 years ago, I'm on lead against 3NT with AQJ10 and a side ace. I lead the Q and the dummy exposes K9xx. Declarer plays low without even the normal card one delay. I continue J and after a normal 15 second tempo declarer play low again. I continue the 10. At this point the King and Nine are equals so there's no reason not to play king. Declarer goes into the tank and five minute later calls for the nine. Down one.

What if East wins the A and shifts to the 9? If it wins east shifts to three rounds of diamonds. If not east keeps the 7 and three diamonds and West keeps three diamonds.

They’ll fetch the wrong ones. They can barely enter their table number into the bridgemate. I don’t start the clock until everyone get their boards.

If I have 11-20 points, I have to take off my shoes to count them.

Being a director I can enter the game while you sit and wait. Or I can pass out boards then put the game in the computer. I could have 17 tables to pass out boards.

Juries love confessions but detectives can grill a confession out of a cheese sandwich. I don’t have an opinion on the evidence. It great to see an arrest.

The result at the table is you are -100 vs. +120 at the other table for a one IMP pickup. Since this is team scoring maybe you think about how often you are -500 on a stupid part score vs. if you prefer to play NT or a suit.

On I hands I declare I have bid at least once. On hands partner declares I might have passed throughout. So my bidding decision vs. people sitting my direction affects my declarer percentage. True my bidding affects partners declaring but not as strong a function .

They wake up together. Interesting to see who gets to the office at the same time.

One hand doesn’t prove anything nor one afternoon but consistent performance over time can’t be dismissed as a freak.
