At the table I try 6NT over 6. She has to have a bunch of jacks to go with the K AK. Or the queen of clubs Maybe she has six hearts. I don't know about the singleton club.

On the diamond lead (unbid suit?) it is just about cold. Unblock the Q. First round finesse of the J. Unless it loses to the singleton queen, I have four hearts, four spades, three diamonds, and a club. If it does lose to the singleton queen, I have a diamond spade squeeze.

At the other table they were playing 6. Bidding not known so I gave mine. Thought it is an interesting play problem. And not sure which is the best contract for Imps.

Yes, still thinking about 6NT. Maybe the spades break horribly but I have 12 tricks without them.

Swiss team. I don't have to worry about making 7 or other people making 7.

Ron was the first and for a long time the only nationally known expert I played against. At a regular club game in Skokie. I got two zeros for my effort and no real story. I thought all the professional players were like him. My partner knew Ron from the Chicago Board of Trade. In Chicago a lot of the best bridge players trade options.

Yeah but their play is inspired so we don't let them in.

Sixth. Team Lichtenstein and San Marino not competing in the BB because they need to be paid.

They match up the worlds most populous country and the worlds least populous country on purpose?

But it's stratified. They only have to beat the other robots.

The robots get a score and get masterpoints?

I grew up in west rogers park then run into you in Southern california. Funny. I played at alpha bridge club in Albany Park. If there was a duplicate bridge club in Rogers Park, I didn't find it. I played during high school 78-79. Then didn't play sanctioned bridge for 10 years. ACBL says I joined in 1989.

Didn't find duplicate bridge at the Union either. The Woolsley Bjerkin crowd is long gone but I wonder what happenned to the game. Played rubber bridge upstairs at Chusfa.

So for your survey I guess I count as self taught. I read the bridge column in the newspaper and tried to reverse engineer the rules from that. Took a class from Gary Kohler's mom. Bought a book “five weeks to winning bridge”. Went to the club. I was sufficiently anti-social in high school not to notice or care about the social aspects of it. Me and Gary were the two high school kids and every one else was over 65.

As a director you need to determine who claimed first since that determines whether the revoke is established or not. Even if you can't determine who claimed first, you have to rule one way or the other. I had a similar case only it was the hand behind declarer that revoked.

Not to disrespect the Lavazza team an obviously great team but they lost in the first round at the last nationals, I forget to who. I don't know if your chance of beating them is one in a thousand or one in a hundred or whatever but stuff like that happens in bridge every national.

Typical auction goes what four rounds. 15 seconds per person is 4 extra minutes. You got 7 minutes to play a board. So what's the time control at the Cavendish? I'll never appear at a Cav so it doesn't matter to me.

It costs a lot of money to get someone to take those Laker tickets.

The software (acblscore) will flag if a denomination is sometimes played by north-south and sometimes by east-west. Then the director can track it down. There is a score correction period after the game that people can call in corrections. Nothing in this world is 100% accurate but it should be close enough for Gonzalo's purposes I would think.

A couple weeks ago I was playing with one of my students and I averaged 52% when I was declarer and 16% when I was the dummy. One of the boards was flipped and I was the dummy instead of declarer or the other way around but there's no way of knowing that from the game file.

5 diamonds 2 clubs and 2 heart tricks. It looks like east has Kx(x) so I duck the first round of clubs. If east unblocks the king I have two club tricks so he can't. West has to continue a low club or I have two club tricks but he probably won't.

Suppose west switches to a heart at trick two and the jack gets coverred (these opponents are too smart), now I have to establish the spades. King of spades out of my hand. Maybe someone will duck or the queen is singleton. they win, play a heart which I duck and win the third heart. I play the 10 and hope the person with the queen is out of hearts (or ducks). Now I go to the board with my one entry, the A, take my spades, and take the diamond finesse.

If partner has the A and K a club lead allows partner to give us two ruffs. If partner has AQ or K K, we need to start spades from our side and then wait for our trump trick. I'm trying the J. Seems like it works for more partner hands.

This is exactly why zero tolerance was implemented. So when you harass, abuse, harrangue 80 masterpoint players for acting properly and ethically, we keep her and remove you. Before ZT it would be the otherway around. Just because we are making $8.50 an hour doesn't me your director doesn't know her job.
