In my opinion the Multi should be allowed in ANY event without restriction.

In a post below Tracey suggested natural. What would you do with xx AQ AKQJxxx xx, or is this a too narrow target for which to aim?

Avon his is one of the funniest posts I have ever read on BW. I have played Olec many times and you have his accent down to a tee. You really should publish and please include some Courtney stories; there are many of these. It is about time we met up in Lao again for dinner.

This is not a good argument. You would double with

void
Axx
Kxx
AQJxxxx
I would not.

Tom Townsend: “It's a pairs event with short rounds, John. You're not normally allowed two systems in those. Nor should you be, IMO.”
Why on earth not? You might play against a standard pair one round and a Precision the next. How is this any different? Bridge is really becoming a game for children.

I would certainly pass 3NT with this.

Forcing. The reason partner passed 2S was because he was waiting for a reopening double. Imo Nth has no business making a nf 4C bid; once 3NT is bid he does not even need to look at his cards, therefore 4C is forcing and a slam try.

Bob I think you are being fed porkie pies, (lies). You need to talk to Australian Dave Thompson who has built many of the screens used in Victoria. They take up no more room and were very cheap to build.

I would open and rebid 1NT. I do not want to lie by suggesting I have 9 cards in 2 suits when I do not.

Patrick. “You dont play that, isn't it?” Pd and I have bid and made a slam over a 2C opening - a real one, not one like this.

Patrick you clearly play a different game to mine if you think that everytime you make a jump this is an invitation for a sacrifice. For me a jump shows a certain hand type and depending on vul a decent suit. Do you want to pass here? Note that your rho opened 2C and has not mentioned any suit yet. The possession of qxx in spades is actually a positive as opener may well miscalculated. Not that we would have screwed the opponents had north not over reacted.

Nigel, so often is “Its matchpoints” used as an excuse for poor bridge.

Did the 2 bidder alert that his 2 openings can be lighter than expected? I would bet not.

“At these colors and with that hand, I'd expect 5S to make. Since I'm going to bid 6D over 5S anyway.” You have an Ace. Who says pd does not have the Ace of Ds to stand up, or if not the DA another trick somewhere? Taking the last guess by 5 followed by 6 is the worst of all actions.

Quote Andy: “they would not be required to alert anything,” I think they would be required to alert 3. Can this be a minimum, does it show extra values?
