Thomas Bessis Hello, Serge.
I've been playing with Fred for a few years, we're happy, although we probably don't play the best possible version. The convention solves many problems in some cases, it is true, but also creates it sometimes. Everything is not perfect and solved, far from it.

We still have with Fred over 40 pages of system on the gazzili, and we spent hundreds of hours working on it, so I really know what I'm talking about…. I wouldn't recommend it to a pair. Amateur, the gain is too small for work and time to invest.
But if we can afford to spend a lot of time working, then yes, this convention is worth playing.

here Jim I got that discussion
Hello Thomas, being bridge educated in the standard french system we see now that Italiens do much better with Gazzilli regarding strong hands and two suited hands, your opinion ?

Thomas Bessis Bonjour Serge,

yes Jim it is a spectacular tool but I asked french star Thomas Bessis because he was training with Gazzilli and he said not that easy because Gazzilli gives solutions too a few bids ok but it brings more unknown problems, so far I understand Gazzilli with that hand the bid would be 1 spades 1NT semi forcing 2 clubs a kind of relay partner accept the relay by bidding 2 diamond with a positive hand that means 8hcp+ and do not accept with less opener bids 2 spades i think to show that hand. Same hand with 3hcp less and the bid would be standard 1 spades 1NT 2 spades

a Major bridge discussion since 50 years ? Italians have a great bidding which basically starts 1 diamond opening partner 2 clubs asking and opener gives his shapes and strengh, someone can give more information about that Italian bidding ?

yes ok but we gamble when we think we have the power to do so, we cannot gamble with any hand … bridge is a statistical game and we use it to bid, yes on a good day 4 heart makes but that cost you many overbidded hands … up to you
