No need to make a skewed preempt in second seat, especially when I have support for both majors.

Opener should bid as if the auction had gone 1-P-1; as I play it responder only shows hearts with the double.

If I didn't pull 4N undoubled there is no reason to now pull 4N doubled. This is analogous to the situation that often occurs when a player passes over the opponents' bid, his partner makes a slow double, then he now pulls it, taking advantage of the UI that partner isn't so sure about his double.

This is way too good for a 15-17 1NT opener. Good club suit and all 4 aces is an easy upgrade.

I'm definitely done now, I wouldn't be surprised to go down in 4H.

This would be a much tougher problem if we were playing some kind of strong/forcing club system, as 1, 1, and 2 are all seriously flawed. As it is, an easy 1 opener. While the opponents may get in, we have an easy followup with hearts at some level.

If I knew partner wouldn't bid 2 then stayman would likely work out best, but you are over thinking things here to do anything but pass.

The more I see these types of hands come up, the more useful it is to have a jump to 5M just be invitational rather than asking about a control in the opponents' suit.

Partner and I will have a discussion later if he doesn't want to defend 1 XX.

Shows a good hand with spade shortness and probably diamond length, hence why I passed on the first round.

I deserve to be in this position if I decided to overcall 2 with this piece of junk. Pard's X is completely normal.

I agree with the initial double, I think that's about it.

Double finesse loses to only one holding, KQ tight offside.

Maybe North should bid the suit he wants led rather than screwing around.

I took the low road here as well since partner rates to be quite short in hearts, and 5 needs partner to have lots of extras. A 3 call may see partner bid 3N and my dummy will be a bit disappointing for that contract.

If I'm not going to overcall 1 with this maybe I should take up tiddlywinks instead.

Yeah, I think something along that line is the solution. I could just go in the tank for a minute and play the 2. :)

As Dave mentioned above, it's in red (alertable) at the top left of the convention card. A negative X of an overcall is the standard meaning, so a penalty X qualifies as unusual and an alert.

X as penalty here is definitely alertable. Seems like a PP may be in order for east's actions.

While N ought to XX to show the 1st round control, he definitely needs to sign off in 4 over the 4 bid. Having already shown interest by passing 4X, his rounded suit holdings are way too soft to consider any further action.
