Yes Ray, that is one like I talked about.

I agree that this is a wonderful report. I know here (District 7) that Bob Heller issues one from time to time, but this one is much better.

if we have to alert every call partner makes that is undiscussed but could be conventional auctions would take forever. If asked, I would say we have not discussed this sequence, but if you like, I will tell you how I am interpreting it.

Question one is once. More than that would tell partner declarer has more than expected.
Question two I think is that someone with a physical problem should be able to correct mistakes without calling the director.

+100 certainly does not seem better than the +110 you are guaranteed at 2, even if partner contributes nothing. You gambled and lost.

I agree. 4NT could be easily taken as Blackwood, while 5NT has to be minors.

Even though I am light, why tell partner AGAIN about spades?

Bill and Joel are both right. I have been to both many times and noticed the road markers.

I remember playing against a couple and the husband bid 4NT and the wife responded 5NT. Later the husband asked what 5NT was and the wife said “I have all of the aces and none of the kings, so don't ask”.

I went with 3NT, but might have bid 1 the first time since hand is obviously worth 2 bids. We can find spades later if need be. That might have solved things now.

It looks like a great publication. If you post it each month here I will probably read it.

I am not sure I would be “delighted” to be in 3NT when 6 may be cold. Give pard xx, AKxxx, Axxx, Kx

I remember, long ago, looking at my nice 22HCP hand deciding how to bid it when RHO opened 2. I asked if that was weak and LHO said no, they play strong 2's.

I agree. Look at your hand and do not worry about what else happens tempo wise. If you have a call make it, otherwise shut up.

Richard, that was my initial thought also, but it makes me badly placed for a 2 rebid.

Something certainly should be done, but not necessarily rolling the contract back to 5. Tell them to know how to fill out their convention card properly, or know what they are playing.

“Thousands” of new players would be great, but it ain't going to happen by adding a few more clubs.

With partner rating to have most of his points in the minors, he would also need really good spades to make slam a decent contract. That said, I think signing off at 4 is the better part of valor.

I was not 100% sure this partner would consider it forcing. By bidding 2 I at least know she will bid again and show 3-card support if she has it.
