The opponents' bidding is AI. The fact that pd might open light in 3rd seat is AI. You've shown your values already (with or without the possible 2H call Ken mentions) I don't ever see a director ruling that you have to double.

It’s a trick question.
My pd pitched the QH! under the Ace and the ten under the jack

Do we get to see the nice suit preference diamond pd plays at trick 1?

1C 1H 2D will get u there. Hands with a lot of aces are good for slam. And burying your five card suits is counter to slam bidding. It does take up a lot of room, but you are in a gf situation and can get to nt (which might play better from pd’s hand anyway

South doesn't know that East is out of clubs. North does.
South could play KS and a spade when in with the ruff because there's no way pd has 7 spades on the auction

As an American, I learned it as original 4th best. Later it was taught to me as standard present count (where standard means low from odd, high from even). I play this even though all my other signaling (other than suit preference) is upside down.

And probably flat out illegal. Telling your pd/teammates “I'm going to psych on the prime numbered boards” is a hidden agreement.

I'm not fond of the splinter with no spade values. It also sucks up a lot of room in the auction.
Is 4 really a diamond control and not last train?

I'm not sure that bidding a slam that requires an 8-0 break qualifies as good judgement.

Without having seen Michael’s infinitely more fun line, I will be taking the spade hook to pitch a heart and ruffing one club in dummy - hoping for either a 3-2 D break or Qxx of clubs (or both :)

South is a very good player, but is pretty straightlaced. Of the two, north is more likely to psych. But you can trust your pd’s takeout double. With a balance 17-19 he will pass.
