If the spade finesse works, you can score 3 clubs on power

Surely you’ve played xfer responses to 1 rather than xfers to 1

It's third seat and it's aceless. Pd is a passed hand so most likely we aren't missing game (unless pd has a big heart fit).

We also put a lot of pressure on the opponents. If west can't act over the 2H call, east will be under pressure to balance and the opps can end up in some bad vulnerable 3-level contracts.

1C=2m takes a lot of room in the auction. A lot of pairs have taken 1C-1H (8-11 any shape) from Meckwell and then play xfers for 1N-2D to show clubs through hearts 12+ (with 1S still being natural.)

These aren't really good options - the right answer is extra values without 4 card support or a clear cut suit to bid

Why is suicidal not an option?

5D is a forcing bid. East could have been thinking about making either a stronger or weaker call. IMO, there would be no UI

For the life of me, I can’t figure out the 5H call as opposed to 5D. Especially after the huddle.

Kit writes great articles, but by partnership agreement, Michael Rosenberg settles all arguments.

North can envision diamond slam after the opening bid correct?
What's your NT range btw? I would have considered opening it (which ironically makes it harder to reach 6D

As they often tell me, “It's all in the lead and I hope you get to make it”

Don't worry some of us poor American native English speakers were also fooled.

That part is not ambiguous to me. I include the option for completeness.

I love this poll :)
The second option is the clear choice.
Surprised it’s not unanimous

But to answer your questions,
A) no
B) 2S
C) I it is a tough hand even with a strong club
Playing 2/1 I could see
1D 1S
3C 3H
4D as a start

Now something lke 4H, 5H, 6H from some tables

Yehudit - excellent question
Is it strong with spades, a cue-bid for hearts or kick-back for hearts?

All could be options undiscussed

4 hearts 3 clubs and 2 diamonds seems the most likely route.
All roads require the KC to be onside.
