Clearly a logical alternative Leo. I chose to pull because of the extra club length and the complete lack of quicks. But it was a close call. I expect to go mnus either way

Richard - you're right - in most systems 2 of the other minor is the forcing call over 1m 1S 1N while 2H is nf

New suit by responder is forcing. New suit above 2 of the original opening suit is forcing. Otherwise not forcing

UvU requires a known suit to be raising.
I have played 3C and 3D as weak and strong stayman, with 3H and 3S as natl and forcing and doublelooking for blood.

I have played systems on aka stayman, transfers etc

I was thinking the same thing. If you're going to bid over 3S (which I think is correct) - 3N brings the diamond suit into the picture. Diamonds could easily be the right strain (and makes 5 here)

The downside is showing the opponents more of your shape if they're declaring in the end

I'm with David here. 1D X is not forcing for East. Showing 4 H does not suggest playing at the 2 level

Brad. At my table, North passed the double rather than bidding xxxx of spades. I think 2H is the weakest call while bidding beyond 2S is a hand that is accepting a game try. Over pass, south backed the hand down to 2H given the poorly placed KD

Good problem. 3S seems right, but it feels like it might shut the door on 6D investigation. 4C looks best for 6D probe, but 4S might be the right contract. The other bids don't feel descriptive enough
