randy. nothing wrong with your question at all. michael likes to resort to personal attacks when he has nothing relevant to say apparently eugene thinks this is ok. michael you are no more intelligent or informed than anyone else in bridge winners. and as randy said, please have a happy holiday!

so it seems that other than trying to obfuscate the bridge pros and accompanying suckups need to answer a question. did levin grue have a reason for the second appeal did they think their claim was good? did they know someone (s) on the appeal committee? did they know joe grues remark would not be considered?

phyllis. there was NO lead out of order.
michael– im a huge fan of you and your family and your opinion is always welcome. otoh to me after a directors ruliing (he polled players also) any appeal of what is a bid that deserves to lose is just wrong wrong wrong. if a pair wants to win that way i certainly dont want to be in the game with them.

so you think the fact that the director ruled to allow the table score means the director is not a good director? or did you think that was redundant also. fact is this national championship was stolen legally of course. there should be NO recourse from a horrible bid.

felix you are 100 percent correct. to me this smacks of a lack of active ethics. i am appalled that many top players think it is ok to take advantage of other players on a technicality. the right to use a law does not make it ethical.

peg since you are willing to answer

1. does south have the right to think about this bid or not?
2. if he does then many of us think there is a perfectly good reason to think about the bid.we do NOT accept that double of 7nt shows an ace as a universal bid. most of us would have stopped to wonder whether double called for a different lead then a diamond. so to those of us with that thinking we do NOT accept there is a BIT that is UI.

i understand you cant have it both ways but it seems to me this has only been 1 way. mr. antonsen has been made the goat and i just cant accept that. neither should you

in this is exactly the point many of us were trying to make. surely the acbl has someone reading this. many of us are unhappy. i think acbl must address this.

to me this is also simple:
some people (maybe many) would rather win at any costs, not just by playing good bridge.
and some of you wonder why many of us dont play these events. i think i can find better
things to do, i really dont care if anyone breaks tempo against me or not.

max. you and your blood brother owe sathya an apology as you assumed UI without really knowing that. and passiing in tempo to that 7nt is bs considering partner has doubled 4d and it is not clear opps have shown an ace. south definetly had something to consider and under 1 minute is prob a record for that type thing.

i agree but the question for me is “how is 1 minute UI?” ive kibbed a lot and many times players take 4 or 5 minutes which is an eternity for me. south had to think about whether a double was gonna be misinerpreted. additionally i dont know what his normal tempo is. over the years my partners always told me to slow down. i didnt see that question was asked. so phil and others , i question whether an infraction actually occurred. i of course dont know nor do you or anyone except those there.

perhaps it is time to tell all of us exactly what happened. i mean spell it out what the ui was. that is the only way to settle this issue in many minds.

actually i play pretty well. but the biggest difference between me and a really good player is im not consistent. in addition at 75 mark me as one of those who walks into the kitchen thinking i know who composed that opera and who the first soprano singing the lead role was but then i forget why im in the kitchen. sometimes playing bridge i forget whole tricks. now if peg kaplan would run away with me id prob start playing again. what a woman
