I play 2NT as showing 1444 and 10-11, i.e. a hand than made a takeout double with fewer values than normal because of distribution.

In a match my partner and I made 5Dx while our opponents could make a slam in hearts (all vul). At the comparison:
- Plus 750.
- Lose 24.

Possibly I'll bid 3H and hope to escape a heart lead.

The defending champions do have the right to defend their title. They can qualify like any other team.

Reasonable automatic translation but it should say something like “preempt” rather than “lead”.

If this is the case, how difficult would it be to find illegal signalling, if such exist, by analyzing videos like with F-S? It would be many hours of work, sure, but I'm guessing it would be far from impossible.

I'm guessing Boye will add new videos and will also point out the patterns he has found after giving the rest of us the chance to find them first.

1-1NT is forcing but does not contain GF hands (1-2NT is GF balanced). 1-1NT is semi-forcing. If it matters for the poll, we play Flannery.

We play that 1-2; 2-3 starts quebidding and 2 asks opener to describe shape.

Double shows strength. Typically 15-19 hcp. It does not show it can beat 1NT in the doubler's own hand. With 15 we tend not to double unless we have a good lead.

In fact in the case I was kibitzing an opening bid of 1 shows at least HHxx if balanced. Thus opener could be 2443 at this point if the diamonds are worse than that.

It was a hand I was watching and I wasn't sure whether to post it as a first or second round bidding problem. I normally play a standard 2/1 system and I think I would bid 2C the first round. NS here plays 5542 so 2C doesn't look so good. Maybe 1NT or dbl the first round?

I play it as four card spade support, invitational or minimal GF.

If playing 2-3M as a mixed raise (like Levin/Weinstein), what would be appropriate hands for this call? 3 I imagine would be similar to a normal mixed raise of a 1 opening? What about a 3, how many spades does it show for instance?

Transfers over 1M - (dbl). 2H shows a good hand with three card support.

We play it not as preemptive but as an hand with high offensive strength. A hand wishing to raise to 4H but which has defensive values we bid 3NT.
