We are all human, I was west and bid like a muppet, how you do in bridge is usually the sum of your screw ups not your brilliances, it had been a long week

Great and unsurprising news, totally deserved. I always feel comfortable talking to Matt and accepting his thoughts, whether for or against my emotions

Thanks for posting Sam. Ciara's unexpected and sudden passing was a terrible shock. I had many late nights with her and her laughter and sense of humour were infectious. She was such a positive person she will be sorely missed R.I.P.

A big well done to the lads, they dominated the final and were deserving champions. Of course there is some randomness in the scoring , especially in a 50/50 slam where huge imps are swung depending on which side you are lucky enough to be on. Also 2 flat 1nt contracts against the worst pair in the room is going to put you behind the 8 ball. That being said it has to be hugely entertaining for any kibitzers who like to see the top players duke it out with each other trying to generate those big home runs.

Back of the net IBF !!, well done, given their past cheating history your decision seems pretty much spot on. Well done again.

OMG , only really knew him at the table but always found him a really nice guy and a great player with a superb temperament, to die so young is just plain wrong. RIP

I usually can think of some kind of comment but this has left me totally speechless. What kind of justice is this. I thought assessing the proper length of bans for cheaters was going to be the tough part of the process and naively assumed that restorative justice would be a given. This would be a joke if it wasn't such a serious matter.. I really thought the ACBL had the balls and were going the show the EBL and the WBF how to fully deal with the cheaters and their illicit achievements. What a cop out.

A bit of a slap in the face to Boye and his posse,

I guess I wasnt totally speechless !!

Ha ha….I'm glad I had a normal/average butler performance in the Olympiad but the assumptions made by the OP are ridiculous. The butler for the Olympiad is completely flawed as there were 5 or 6 really bad teams in every group and if you were lucky enough to play them your butler would definitely benefit. The top pairs will always find themselves playing against the top teams in the group and taking a rest against teams that wont put up much of a fight. For butlers to more accurately reflect a pairs true performance they should be weighted/adjusted depending whether you are playing against meckwell or a pair of unknowns from a bottom team.

To be honest I really have no appetite to get involved or comment much on this hornets nest that just been poked but must set one record straight. The main reason why it's European pairs that have been outed as cheats is that the main body of evidence that has been used came from the 2014 European bridge championships. It would be ridiculous for people to assume that either side of the pond has more cheaters than the other. In any event that should really be irrelevant. We are a global game, cheaters were in our game and a global problem, not a European problem. Personally I am also sick of this us-them stance taken by some people (on both sides), we all breathe the same air.

Of course I agree also but I am just really disappointed that your tremendous achievement has been overshadowed by an over righteous peanut gallery that are hardly qualified to dictate what should or should not be done. It's obvious that ye both have handled this tricky situation pretty impeccably. Congratulations on a tremendous result

You rumbled me Hanan. And BW is just a good a place for me to come clean. I do have something personal against FS, I have something personal against FN, I have something personal BZ, and I have something personal against PS. The amount of damage these ******s have caused our game, you bet your life it's personal. I won't apologise for that. I will admit some prejudice v Nezer because when I see someone trying to muddy the evidence I immediately expect that they are friends of the accused and not exactly independent.

Of course I can understand a friend batting for his mate and even doing so a little bit blindly to the overwhelming evidence. It's in our nature to try and find a way to protect our friends and even almost believe the unbelievable. But in this instance I have studied all the evidence right from the beginning and there is only one possible conclusion and it's so blatant that it's my opinion that something else is in play here, I don't want to expand or comment further as to my opinion on what's in play but it's my belief.

Inon's analysis is an embarrassment, I can only believe that something else is in play here. He's not an idiot but yet put his name to this. The dog in the street knows they are guilty and no amount of smoke and mirrors will change the facts. They deserve 25+ years ban, with none suspended !!!
