Slough of Despond:(

We have lost The Hopper.

John was a a true friend forever. A real loss for me as well as the birdge world.

He was a deep thinker of all bridge situations: “It's bridge, Mister!”

My heart goes out to Sueellen.

What a really sad time. A big loss for the bridge world. Michael had everything one could hope for in a bridge player: great skill, gracious when you got a good board from him, well-mannered, very witty and fun.

I cannot still believe this.

My condolences to all who were close to him.

He trawled a wide net of fans.

Hi Mike:

The League is a big mystery to me.

You should be boiled in oil and lynched for the most heinous of your possible crimes: not calling the Director.

How they could imply that you in any way “cheated”, by sneakily inserting it into the last Bulletin.

Meanwhile, on other front(s) there are more serious & flagrant things that are going on right before all of our eyes.

The League chooses not to proceed, prosecute or do ANY thing about them, ‘tho they are known!

If they stay this course, it will eventually take down the last vestiges of bridge here.

Why are these things allowed to go on? Where are the “gendarmes”?

Answer: there aren’t any; at least any with any courage.

They pick their fights: the picayune ones but they are totally edentate when it comes to tackling anything of a more serious bent.

He was a kind, giving gentleman. He was always there to help us out with the Juniors.

So sad:((

WOW!!! Maybe the most exciting bridge I ever saw. You guys really played in another dimension and proved, after the first few days, you were no 1-hit wonders:)))

Very sad day for all of us to have lost a talented player + a nice person like Laurie:(

She never complained, through it all…

WD Gavin!!

This is a really good teaching tool that can be used for all levels.

On the 2nd hand, your points were especially helpful for my Intermediate Juniors:

1)Explore: 1st things 1st, for a Major-Suit fit
2)4C is not Gerber, simply bidding naturally
3) 5N=pick a slam

It is well thought out presentation & I agree with a prior comment, that these should be marketed & for sale!
