In theory the potential for youth bridge in New York City is "Huge". There are 1.4 million students in NYC public and private schools. There are a few committed volunteers that work with individual schools or groups. These efforts are relatively small in scale and are not coordinated. The Greater New York Bridge Association (GNYBA) as part of its mission is interested in promoting youth bridge as much as possible. We help fund some programs and we respond to inquiries, but we haven't really been proactive in reaching out to the schools.
I am hoping that there is someone out there who has the ability. time and "calling" to coordinate a proactive youth education program in the city. If you know someone who might want to do this, please let me know.
