Plan your play.
Lead a toward K. When eventually in dummy lead a diamond to cut communications. N can't cash diamonds without setting up 9th trick. Playing for spades 4-2 and the K in N for an endplay doesn't work if S can find the switch.
Avoid -380
I should have included as an option, bid 2 with the South hand as on another similar thread I wrote that dbl of 2 is stayman.
Harrison Luba's bidding problem: 873 AJ6 --- AKJ9752
Thought 3D a close 2nd but with only 13 HCP pard likely to bid if 3NT is right.
Avoid -380
I am surprised that most so far think dbl of 2 is penalty yet if the auction had gone 1NT 2 dbl would be stayman.
What now?
This is similar to when you open 1NT. Each partners dbl is the same. Either they are both takeout, or both penalty but need a partnership agreement.
Prahalad Rajkumar's bidding problem: AT65 63 52 T9874
Do the non-vul opps really have 10 diamonds between them? Nah!.
Alan Schwartz's bidding problem: J AK43 AQT Q6432
I thought the primary suit was too poor for a reverse particularly when 2NT isn't available for a contract, but guess the alternatives are worse.
ATB - 7N a no-no
First time I have seen this type of poll that warrants a 100% blame assessment. For those who think its less than 100%, what different bid would you make with the West hand?
Steve Bloom's lead problem: 92 AQ94 53 AT832
We need Heart tricks. Declarer likely doesn't have K. Maybe pard or he can have the HJ and a diamond entry. Thus I will take my expected 0-2% with my low heart lead.
How to play trumps?
One other point about the bidding. Wouldn't S bid stayman without interference as game is possible and you want to play the right major Seems even more important(via dbl) with interference to put E on lead if possible.
