Leonard Helfgott's bidding problem: --- A863 J86542 973
hopefully taken as SOS, otherwise not in saving mode, though it is the season ... expect ps spades to be better than my diamonds, which lie under doubler
Leonard Helfgott's bidding problem: AKQ 4 KT9732 AQ6
2NT is the least bad bid, best under circumstances
Rebid Problem?
hand is worth upgrade to allow 2NT bid, right-siding the contract ... otherwise, 3 club rebid is quite reasonable
Leonard Helfgott's bidding problem: KJ953 AK32 6 863
not tempted to bid michaels with reasonable hand and only 4 hearts; double is tempting, but really do not want to hear clubs (hand should not double then bid)
Leonard Helfgott's bidding problem: KJT8 J943 62 KJ5
still looking for 4 card support ... pass 1NT, let them run diamonds if they can
1S-1NT-2NT-3grapes?
Why in from NT ... disagree with presumption of "appear to be to play" ... prefer constructive meaning, showing willingness to go higher if there is any fit
Leonard Helfgott's bidding problem: A97432 86 Q5 A62
Bergen count 12-13?
Sportsmanlike dumping???
Bridge is a game, most people play for enjoyment and intellectual challenge/joy. At my level, I would NEVER do it or consider dumping. At the highest level I might think about it and reject it (I think and hope).
Leonard Helfgott's bidding problem: 8642 62 KJ65 AQ9
As Al Roth used to say, "what's the problem"? Perhaps it was not Al Roth, but ... what is the problem?
Leonard Helfgott's bidding problem: 63 AK52 AQT94 K6
Good enough to reverse, but 1 NT better.
