about me

Won my first regional in 1969.   President of District 21 in 1971, at a young age.

I  had about 1000 points when I "retired" from bridge in 1972.  Played essentially  not at all until 2004, and infrequently since.  As of August, 2018, I have about  2600 points.

In my early years I teamed with quite  a number of championship-level players, including Grant Baze, Peter Pender, Barry Crane, Huge Ross, Peter Rank, Marilyn Johnson,  and Lew Stansby.

Country
United States of America

As to Jeff's comment about zero tolerance: I called the director about a zero tolerance complaint. He did nothing, by definition many of these these behavior complaints don't change the hand results. So I did write up my opponent on a "player memo". We will see if zero ...

As to the smoke complaints: Las Vegas is on the announced schedule for 2019 and 2024. I don't know that it will be any better because a lot of gamblers smoke.

Last night I appealed a result due to a bidding break in tempo by my RHO. The director at the table ruled against me, and I appealed. The "screening director" at the appeal heard and transcribed the story. He said I didn't have a case, and in effect suggested ...

Polly Siegel's bidding problem: A2 J9 QJT98532 9
In this month's ACBL Bulletin is the usual bidding contest between two top pairs. It was won by Jay Stiefel and his partner. He has twenty thousand MP's , has been on teams with Rodwell and the late Paul Solloway, and is a pretty close friend. He says bid ...
Polly Siegel's bidding problem: A2 J9 QJT98532 9
Well I guess we are going over the same discussion over and over . This was hardly the worst thing which could have happened. Opener had eight HCP. If the other cards are spread evenly around the three other players, the pard of the preempter has eleven HCP (rounded ) and four ...
