about me

English club player, average club standard.  President of my club because I think I can fix anything!

\n

Newly qualified club TD, just gaining experience.

\n

Love the game and always trying to improve.  Have played for over 50 years - next year I will be good.

\n

I play 2/1 with my regular partner, very much in the current Italian style with Transfer Walsh and 2!C as 18-19 balanced (same transfers).  Unusual in England.

\n

Retired in 2008 after selling the business - how about that for timing, right at the top of the market!  25 years of management experience in professional business services companies.

\n

I'm the classic polymath, broad but shallow knowledge.  BSc Electronics, MBA, BA History and currently studying for a MA in Military History (just for entertainment).

\n

So I know nothing but can manage anything.  Now too old and cold and settled in my ways to be useful.  But if you want an opinion ...

Club policy legal?
Law 40 B2 (a)(v) allows the restriction of "psychic artificial calls". The EBU used to forbid the psyching of a 2 opening bid.
Defense to Multi at the Orlando WBF Championships
Jim, I agree that there are other consequences but I was trying to keep my post brief. When we played Multi we used it alongside Dutch-2s and a weak 2NT for the minors, defences to both of which need to be considered.
Defense to Multi at the Orlando WBF Championships
I played Multi for many years but gave it up as my partner and I concluded it didn't work that well. It is really easy to defend against.
The Talk That Never Was: The Blue Team Rule
Correlation isn't causation! Maybe they were just past their best?
Why does the membership not revolt against the Board of Directors?
I suspect the situation is much the same in the UK. I don't know the average age of EBU members but I'm 68 and most people at my club are older than me. Until earlier this year I was President of my club and talking (and listening) to ...
Accusation of Plagiarism against Mark Horton
Apropos very little at all "moron" is Welsh for carrots. :-)
Who Will Win the Open European Championship?
I don't think many people would have thought that Iceland would be leading after 13 rounds.
