Doug, I assume you play strong NT. What do you open 5332 with 13 or 14 point hand?
James Tyner's bidding problem: AJ2 QJ732 K754 Q
My personal rule is to accept all invitations with a singleton.
Roth Swiss Day Two: PEPSI Still Leading
This brings me to my biggest peeve with cuts. The GNP starts with 76 pairs, but is cut to 28 on the 2nd and final day, not played with screens. This is a grass roots level event, and many of the pairs go to play in this one event they ...

Tough Break
Mike, good analysis. I'm glad you are directing rather than competing in our Michigan tournaments.

Great win! Especially happy for Clerkins, who learned bridge in southern Indiana where they often played in my Columbus, Indiana club. Now on to Lyon for the world championship. Good work also for captain Levine from Michigan and all other team members. Well done.
Interview with Eric Rodwell
Eric, Dave Fred and his wife, Patty, now live in Interlocan, MI. He is still playing havoc with the field. At the Frankfort Sectional last weekend, I opened the bidding, Dave and Patty got to 6 clubs, and since my wife had doubled Dave's cue bid, I doubled for ...
