about me

Learned to play in my neighborhood group of moms with baby's, loved it from the start. Got into duplicate when I moved to Tokyo, loved that even more. Continued playing in Tokyo and Singapore, but never in competitions until we moved back to US in 2005, where I learned how bad I really was. We moved to St. Petersburg, FL. After a year of playing with anyone the director of the nearest club would find me, found a great partner. We went to NAP's and GNT's for the state in the C category and made LM together.  Had to break up partnership, but have finally found another partner and great mentors.

Implicit private understanding?
I had a partner who played 1nt forcing showing an unlimited hand with at least 2 in openers major, I always felt it needed an alert.
Help Me Understand "Source of Tricks" Responses to Jacoby 2NT
I use it to. Show a second suit
12 IMPs penalty against the opps - what would you do ?
I guess within 10 minutes doesn’t include 10 minutes late. If it does then no penalty should be given If it doesn’t 12 points for 4 boards it is.
What is the best opening?
Well I am saying 4d and prob 3 or less clubs. So it’s only a wee lie
What is the best opening?
I open 1D if I have just an opening and 1C if I can reverse either way my partner knows I’m not willing to bid NT. I play 2/1.
Are you kidding me?
Bad rule there are so many possible meanings to a 2D bid after a strong 2C.
An exhortation. - Just open the %$^&^% bidding!!!
I was still reading and I trust you, to bid what you think best so bid light two suiters
Cuebid or natural?
I use it as a cue Bid with 3 card support and 3D would be 4 card support. I show less than invitational hands with a simple raise
Is this hand an acceptable one-level opening bid in modern bridge?
Partnership agreement. With a couple of partnerships I get them bidding too high. They r a little hung up on high card points. It poses a problem because I won’t bid a weak 2 with a four card major.
What does partner's double of GF 2!c opener indicate?
Lead directing with a long club suit , since 2club opener is conventional
