To Sabine and Roy
personally I don't think "Unfortunately" is a proper word here when talking about checking your result. You should know if you fail to do that, every player in the field could be affected. it's absolutely not called some "fortune" but a player's responsibility.
Style Question, I
I'd rather it's a multiple choice question. Usually I rebid 1NT but which minor matters. After 1-1-2, p can get the cheapest 4SF but life will become not so easy if you rebid 2(1-1-2-3 is one of the ugliest ...
Are the ACBL rules open to interpretation?
I agree with Boye that there might be some culture differences. This is just like a 5 to 4 vote in the US Supreme Court. The Court is ideologically polarized. Some of them believe in originalism(textualism/judicial minimalism) but some others prefer intentionalism(judicial activism). I know in some ...
Carding agreements in cashout positions
I'm not a fan of odd/even though it works well in most cases. If the situation is summarized to CASHOUT IN 2 SUITS(AAB or ABB), I think the theoretical solution should be: you lead an Ace and partner shows ATT(let's say ENC here) then you ...
1!H - 1!S Auctions
Indeed 1-1-2-3 is the most "ugly" 4th suit forcing auction. IMO there are several solutions like ART 2 response with BAL hand to creat a GF situation. We can give up 2 rebid to save space for further development as well. Thus 1-1 ...

In Defense of Chemistry
completely agree...we have to admit the world is not so perfect. At the table, each pair has its own style and winning model like a formula which sometimes brings win but sometimes not. Whatever in pair or team, chemistry is a key factor in the formula. Basically the team ...
