No <50% boards
Finn, as I mentioned to you earlier, I had a 77.78% game in one of the side pairs at the recent online regional. Our worst board was 56 and change. What I forgot to tell you is that every round I took a new screenshot of the barometer because ...
No Matchpoints
I was wondering what happened at other tables. We finished with the clock almost to zero and I never heard any results besides those of my teammates.
No Matchpoints
To the first point, though, I think cashing the DA initially may be a superior approach. By not doing so, I happened to reach a position where I could ensure the contract against an adverse lie, but that doesn't necessarily mean the overall line was ideal.
No Matchpoints
Hi Esko, that's definitely correct! I sacrificed an IMP in case both opps had found strong (but possible) falsecards within the D and C suits, respectively (it would have been reasonable for LHO, say, to follow with the DQ on the second round from an original KQT9). Probably not ...
Another huge finish for 15-year old Finn Kolesnik
I was too deeply into the Nationals to check BW, but I've known Finn since he was 5. Beyond my own happiness at such a high finish in such a prestigious event, I'm so proud and gratified to have been part of this landmark achievement for Finn. Great ...
Another huge finish for 15-year old Finn Kolesnik
When I was 23, a lovely older woman told me how nice it was to see young players playing bridge. 26 years later, I still get that sometimes, but much less often now that half my hair is grey.
Memories of Margie
Up above, Aviv mentioned that Margie mentored several young players at the Culbertson Club back in the mid-90s. I was one of those lucky people. Not only would she play with our group at the club and in regionals, she'd regularly have us up to her place in the ...

Great job team! Very happy for you. :)
Memories of Juanita Chambers
I had the privilege of playing a full KO match against Juanita when I was in bridge diapers over 20 years ago. She was as generous with bridge advice as she was fun at the table. RIP.
Mitch Towner: Poker and Bridge Winner on Same Day
Approximately .00008 of the number of dollars he won in poker. :)
