Hugh Ross 1937-2017
If I remember correctly, there was a third brother but he did not play bridge. Won my first tournament (a BAM at a sectional in Barre VT) playing with Ray Jotchem. Hugh and Jim were the other half.

Played with Ross in pairs and on teams back in the 60s when I was in college and just learning the game. He was a pleasure to play with or against. Dined with him a few times in NYC at tournaments and he was funny and oh so smart.

In a sectional in Montreal, Buddy Marsh (a very good player) said that he held an average of 17 HCP for the session. This does not include what his partner held. This was before the days of computer dealt hands--yes it was shuffle and deal
