Why do I need a convention card?
Ed. I assume, if the opponents do not agree there was a BIT, and don't call the TD then the "non offending" side should or must call? (RY, I've called this the "non offending" side even though no offence has been established at this point.)
Why do I need a convention card?
What did I do wrong here? Should I not have called the director? Although this is how it is adressed at times, I'll stand corrected regarding rolling back auction vs. Adjusted score.
Why do I need a convention card?
These are seasoned players, not newbies. What is the "spirit" of the regulation requiring convention cards? I thought it was there for your opponents information, If we are now saying it is quite okay if you don't have one, or have one partially completed, your opponents can ask. I ...
Why do I need a convention card?
Let's get real. Pairs not having 2 substantially completed cards in an ongoing problem with chronic offenders. There are players who never have a CC, at the club or at a tournament. And I'm the bitch who calls the director every time I encounter this. In these cases ...
Why do I need a convention card?
Here's another example of my concerns expressed in this post. I initially posted this hand as a "bidding problem" but the thread was later deleted as it appeared in the "Articles" category, rather than bidding polls. The hand is AQ8432, 64, T874, A 1st seat vulnerable match points. The ...
Why do I need a convention card?
:) I would like to hear about your run outs after a double of weak nt. Please message me if you can help.
Why do I need a convention card?
The equity is having access to our opponents "substantially completed convention card". The Director did not send one opponent away so that the other could explain their agreements. The Director took the Doubler away from the table, came back and told me 'I could ask'. I agree, Matt Smith is ...
Why do I need a convention card?
Matt, I certainly didn't hear the word penalize during our conversation and I would have objected if I had. Isn't the job of the TD to restore equity, where possible, not to penalize players. Unless of course they have a cell phone in one hand. I do not ...
Why do I need a convention card?
You are quite right, my bad, sloppy wording, I should have written Unless you consider a convention card with lines struck through the NT defence section a “substantially completed card”, I don't think this was an unreasonable request. I do not consider a CC missing defence to NT as ...
Why do I need a convention card?
Ray, I don't expect every player or Director to be able to quote the laws, that's why the Directors should carry the law book with them. I am least concerned with the discretionary decisions made by Directors. The competent Directors faced with discretionary decisions use the tools available ...
