Ulf Nilsson's bidding problem: T AQ842 62 A9852
Certainly an Interesting lead problem, vs 3N, at other table.
Honolulu BRP 7NT Lead Discussion
Hypothetically speaking: IF Brian Glubok, after partners BIT, would've DBL 7N--and subsequently lead the K. There's probably not a member on this forum that wouldn't have ruled against him -- and with comments like this flying around; "Wow that's just sooooo obvious"! "He DBL?" "Really"? "What a ...
Bermuda Bowl-1959 Segment 1
In the interest of encouraging all members to continue spending all this time creating valuable content to be posted on Bridge Winners. It's with vehemence I suggest -- that perhaps it would be a good idea, to first give the author/poster some acknowledgment for the magnificent work put in ...
How aggressive are you?
You can always blame Kit :-)
Assign the blame missed slam - 2
DBL 1 is clearly an equity loser compared to 1. 2 would typically be a stronger one-suited hand, or 2-3* support too heavy for a simple raise.
Assign the blame missed slam - 2
IMHO West should've bid 4 over 3N -- as that implies (slammy) diamond support. A direct 2-4 is splinter with heart support. East could/would subsequently bid 4 --and with West delivering good news denying a control, comfortably raise 5 to 6
Jan Kamras elected EBL President
Although I am not familiar with the other candidates -- an excellent choice indeed. Actually, would almost go so far to say it being a watershed moment for European Bridge. I'd confidently bet on significant overall progress being made over the next coming years. Good luck Jan.
Ulf Nilsson's bidding problem: AQJT983 87 9 QT3
Sure can be correct to pass -- but 4 and 4N both going down would be pretty unfortunate. I don't want to bid 4, as that essentially shuts the door for 4N , 4 gets partner involved. And No~ I cant be 6043/34 or 7033.
David Birds Inappropriate Comment
Appalling insinuation -- to what was a very careful auction. With major suites switched, South probably would have raised 3 to 4 -- but with KQ10, 4 on a 53 fit, could be a vastly superior contract to 4 on 53
Claim ruling poll
Michael: "When you play it out without claiming, you will SOMETIMES realize that you were about to mess up and correct yourself. But sometimes you won't. I haven't read the whole thread here, but for me this is the KEY point. To expand further. A declarer making a ...
