Mini Blue Ribbon!
FYI - this isn't Jonathan's first three day run in this event with a single digit finish. Glad to see he made the top of the list!
What am I missing?
Linked poll starts with 1 Spade - error?
What is the percentage return at trick two?
Try the hand diagram tool with bidding. Then it might be clear what the actual situation is. I don't understand why I still have the Heart Q at trick two.
Matthew Campbell's bidding problem: 8 KT743 AQT643 9
Stupid of me, I forgot to add it when making the post and can't edit it now. This should be answered in a 2/1 structure but respondents won't see this until after they vote. Drat!
Matthew Campbell's bidding problem: T AJT4 AK8432 J6
Thanks, adjusted to reflect that agreement was in play as well.
ACBL Team cost vent - if it's as stupid as it looks. I'm hoping I was wrong.
Most COCs specify that you must play half of the boards in each of the final two rounds of a 4 round KO. Ergo, if you couldn't play any boards in round 3 you would be ineligible.
Karel de Raeymaeker's bidding problem: x Txx AQJ98xx Kx
I think going plus is much more likely with a pass (my vote) than with a bid here. Once you bid 3D staying out of 6 with the South hand was lucky.
Matthew Campbell's lead problem: T6542 4 A53 T543
The big winner was picked by the majority of the pollees, a low diamond. Dummy: S98 HK8 DKT84 CAKJ86 Declarer: SAKQJ HQ9763 D96 CQ9 The low diamond start held declarer to 10 tricks while anything else leads to 11 tricks thanks to the lucky heart layout.
Matthew Campbell's lead problem: T6542 4 A53 T543
Later this week I will report the success of the various leads and give the entire hand.
