Help needed with a player upset with a director's ruling
"If the director was wrong or incorrect about their agreements, then couldn't we have stopped at 10 comments? Nowhere is there really any evidence that I can find that the director was incorrect. If you were in front of a committee and the director told them what their habits ...

“An explanation can still be mis-information even if it fits the actual hand held, if it mis-describes the agreement.” Agreed - but the key issue here isn’t just “Did East receive misinformation?“ It’s “Did East receive misinformation that damaged him?” If he received misinformation that didn’t damage him ...
Help needed with a player upset with a director's ruling
Ok Ray. Now I'll make another change to the hypothetical: Suppose the OP hand and auction were the same - but NS had no negative history or Director instruction on their "Weak" bids. Also assume East asked no questions but only looked at the NS card (both checked "Weak") before ...

Help needed with a player upset with a director's ruling
“Are you sure that's the hypothetical you intend to pose?” Yes. “East claims that North misrepresented their agreement when North in fact remained silent. As a director, I'd have no sympathy for a player who misrepresented what occurred.” But in this case, don’t you have to weigh ...
Help needed with a player upset with a director's ruling
“I've tried to explain above that the limited space and verbiage on the ACBL-style convention card (CC) is not the actual limit under the Laws of Bridge on disclosure owed opponents upon request. If you can't fit a full description of your jump raise style on a convention ...
Help needed with a player upset with a director's ruling
Steve, My issue is: How are constructive values adjudicated in this bidding sequence largely across the league today. Are hands regularly being noted for future instruction should 8 hcp arise in dummy after this sequence? I doubt it.
Help needed with a player upset with a director's ruling
“Explaining that their jumps are based on total tricks for length with HCP between 0 and 10 would be such disclosure.“ Ray, you’ve identified an ACBL doc which advises on constructive raises for major suit openings, however, there’s a discrete bid which differs from the “Weak” bid in ...
Help needed with a player upset with a director's ruling
Thanks Ray, Is there any ACBL published doc about “constructive” responses to minor suit openings in competition? I assume, if they exist, they would differ from those for uncontested major suit openings. If they don’t exist, then I’d suggest “constructive” is simply not well-defined for minor suit responses ...
