Strong 1 opening, followed by all pass making 7 tricks. They could make 1NT also but no one was stopping that low. We were the only pair our way to minus also.
How should this be bid ?

I don't think in NZ we are meant alert 1 at all which I think is a little silly as often people don't listen or make assumptions which can be difficult to realise when you are thinking about your own hand and bidding. Pragmatically when playing strong ...

I don't think so, if the partnership was it had not been discussed specifically - rather just the agreements in the post were discussed.

Same in NZ but I would alert anyway, it is just silly if the opponents have to ask all the time because of the possibility that an unusual thing has come up
