Hard to Believe
What is the score for 7NT making 8?
Hard to Believe
Very rare indeed. Have never seen nor heard of a 2-1-10-1 distribution.
Partner forgets agreement/ UI/ Fielding a psych
Agreement: "A negotiated arrangement between parties as to a course of action" We had agreed to play Gambling 3NT. We had documented our agreement by noting it on our separate convention cards. I did not forget it. I properly alerted and explained it to the opps when asked. I was ...
Partner forgets agreement/ UI/ Fielding a psych
LHO had something like Qxx, J, xxx, KJTxxx. He did say that if he knew LHO had 26HCP, he wouldn't have bid (No kidding.) RHO had the JS. (We could have beat it another, but -800 and -1100 would have scored the same.) This was in a very popular ...
Partner forgets agreement/ UI/ Fielding a psych
True; had I thought it at all likely that was the case I'd have bid again. As it was, I reasoned we were in uncharted territory (and most likely that P had some sort of strong NT) so I took a chance ("gambled"!) that 3NT would make and score ...
Partner forgets agreement/ UI/ Fielding a psych

Partner forgets agreement/ UI/ Fielding a psych
Yes, another possibility I considered, holding only 5 x's in the majors. Who knows? Might as well pass.
Partner forgets agreement/ UI/ Fielding a psych
I agree with your premise and conclusion. So what? Was there UI? Was there an infraction? Was there a basis for a score adjustment? Was the adjustment justifiable?
Can you pre empt over a pre empt?
"It would be nice if in South's explanation, he expressed uncertainty "... That is not proper. When asked to explain, South should indicate what their agreement is, or state that they have no agreement. If after the hand has been played the opponents believe they were misinformed, they should call ...
A Grand Time in Philly
In the 4/15 ACBL Bulletin Barry Rigal discusses the opening 4NT bid and says that 5 shows no aces, 5NT shows A, and 6 shows two aces. I know also that some experts play an opening 4NT as old-fashioned Blackwood when they don't want to ...
