Pretend it is 1993 and you’re at a bridge club.
I don't know necessarily about class of players or how common it was ... but I seem to recall that the American style of cuebids was 1st-round controls first, then 2nd-round controls. Doing that, one needed a keycard ask much less often -- and I was personally proud of successful slams ...
IMP Pairs
> your real opponents are ... those who play the same board at other tables Sure. But what a lot of work to try to factor in which pairs are playing IMP strategy vs. MP strategy when you're playing a board, to try to optimize for the fact that you chose ...
IMP Pairs

Bothell Washington Sectional 9/20/19->9/22/19
BotHell -- that is so much what I feel playing some tournaments on BBO!
2!c With an Unbalanced Hand
Don't forget to cover that a strong 2 opener in a minor suit -- particularly diamonds -- needs to be stronger than a major-suit oriented 2 opener
The 2!c strong opening is annoying
> It is also a good idea to put all positives without a 4 card suit > through 2D and use 2NT as a positive with 5+ hearts. I have yet to see a positive response without a four-card suit. Do they come up often for you?
Keycard response with ten trump
It's amazing how often you can take 12 tricks when you have 14 cards!
GNT Format: Going Forward
Perhaps the Truly Grand National Teams (i.e., the single flight, all KO event Art Korth describes) could also include a prohibition against any participant being compensated in any way for his or her participation, other than the ACBL or District stipend for winners?
