2011 Youth Bridge Congress

The 2nd Annual Youth Bridge Congress, the spiritual successor to the now-defunct World Youth Pairs and Bridge Camp, has completed its opening qualification stage for the teams event. The top 8 teams will advance to the knockout stage starting tomorrow. The Congress is a trans-national festival, comprised of 3 events open to any participants born in 1986 or later. The first event is a teams tournament with a Swiss qualification and then a knockout stage for the top 8 teams. The next event, a Board-A-Match teams, is open to teams that did not qualify for the knockout stage as well as new entrants. Finally, there is a 3-day pairs tournament, open to all participants.

France won the tiebreaker (total VPs scored by one's opponents in other matches) over the USA team to earn the last spot in the quarterfinals.
