ACBL to adopt EBU results file format

The following link takes you to a news item on the EBU's website which says that the ACBL is adopting the EBU's USEBIO file format for results submission by clubs. Looking a little deeper the format is being adapted somewhat to meet additional ACBL requirements.

In England results submitted in this format by clubs, counties and the EBU itself are used to calculate Universal Membership fees and for the National Grading Scheme.

The NGS gives a player a ranking based on the last 2,000 boards played. This sits alongside the lifetime achievement masterpoint rankings.

As a number of scoring programs can already produce results in this format it should mean that the ACBL could introduce a similar ranking scheme of current performance quite quickly. This is a link to details of the English scheme
