My partner and me scored a poor result in this recent hand (IMP 8-board match):

North realized that his hand was fairly strong, but without knowing of a fit and bidding in direct seat vulnerable he thought that 2 was enough. Double would have been conventional.

South looking at a couple of Q's and J's and a balanced 9-count wasn't encouraged to make a game move either. South's action was confirmed by a bidding poll.

With West holding AQx in and Kx in that was in fact a missed slam.

What went wrong ?

North should have done more.
X should be played as strong to don't miss a game such as this.
Nothing went wrong. The result was unlucky.
